Ichiban Asian All You Can Eat Markham is a bustling buffet-style sushi and Asian fusion restaurant located on Hwy 7 in Markham. It draws a crowd looking for a lively, no-frills dining experience where variety and pace take center stage. Unlike quieter sushi spots that focus on delicate presentation, Ichiban is about fast service and a wide range of options to satisfy a hearty appetite.

The atmosphere here tends toward casual and energetic, with background pop music contributing to a somewhat noisy vibe that keeps the room lively but might not suit those seeking a quiet dinner. Seating is arranged to accommodate groups comfortably, making it a solid pick for families or friends who want to sample everything from sashimi and torched sushi to fried dishes like shrimp tempura and grilled skewers.

Ordering is done via tablets at the table, allowing guests to explore a diverse menu including sushi rolls, sashimi, skewers, tempura, and a self-serve salad and soup bar. The salad bar stands out with multiple seasoning and sauce choices, adding a personal touch to this buffet style service. While hot food items generally receive positive nods for freshness and flavor, some cold sushi options, particularly the prewrapped seaweed rolls, can feel a bit soggy, though hand rolls fare better.

For those craving seafood-focused dishes, highlights often mentioned include scallop skewers, fresh oysters, baked mussels with cheese, and bbq mackerel. The portions and variety here tend to offer good value, especially on weeknights or weekends when you might want to pace yourself across multiple plates and flavors. The quick-turnaround service keeps the plates coming steadily, helping groups stay satisfied without long waits.

If you’re visiting with a crowd or want a spot where you can try a little bit of everything Asian fusion style without committing to a single dish, Ichiban fits that niche well. It’s practical for casual dining occasions where price, speed, and variety matter more than ambiance or fine dining finesse.

In general, the food was good; the hot food was a lot better than the cold food. Sushi with seaweed wrap was a bit soggy because it was pre-wrapped, but the hand roll was better. The place was a bit noisy because they broadcasted some pop music or songs that didn't fit the atmosphere. Service was great and food was served quick too. With this price $28.99 and worth to visit if you are craved for decent food and others. Only problem was the washroom and it might be messed up with previous customer. :-( p.s. Make sure your lunch ordered menu. I was seated and requested to have lunch with $23.99 but end paid for the regular menu $28.99

I recently visited Ichiban Asian All You Can Eat for lunch, and overall it was a great experience if you're looking for a variety-packed, sit-down Japanese buffet with a few extras like a salad/soup bar and a dessert station. We were handed a tablet to place our orders. The menu was extensive — everything from sushi rolls, sashimi, grilled skewers, fried items (like tempura and takoyaki), noodles, curry, and more. There's a self-serve salad, soup and desert station in the middle of the restaurant — a nice touch you don’t see at all AYCE places. The restaurant was clean, and the seating was well-spaced. Staff were attentive — they cleared plates quickly. It’s reasonably priced for unlimited food.

I had dinner at Ichiban All You Can Eat in Markham on a Sunday night, and it was a great value! The total for two people came to around $105, which is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food we had I highly recommend the scallop skewers, sashimi, fresh oysters, fried banana, and grilled zucchini all of them were fresh, well-prepared, and super satisfying. The variety was impressive, and everything arrived quickly after ordering through the tablet A solid choice if you’re looking for a tasty and affordable Chinese -style buffet. I’ll definitely be back!
